DFO has many activities other than our flagship program - Field Trips. We provide a number of public programs, both in person and electronically, on topics of interest to the birding community. Most of these are recorded for future viewing. If bird identification is your interest, be sure to check out the Bird Bombs recordings.
Each year we solicit donations to fund our Research, Conservation, and Education Grants program. These small grants provide much needed fundng to local researchers and projects. Our Conservation Committee stays abreast of all the hot conservation topics affecting birds and habitat and informs the membership on their page.
There are two major big projects that DFO partners with:
- Dinosaur Ridge Hawk Watch — held each spring near Morrison
- Birding Hotspots — a project of eBird that provides details on the best places to bird in the Denver area
